Team Profiles

Sanghyuk Koh

I earned degrees in Business Administration in Finance and Computer Science from Carroll College. I am originally from South Korea. I came to the United States in 2000, and spent most of my time studying(!) in the Northwest region. I enjoy getting involved in the latest sports, cars, and technological issues around the world. I hope to find myself working in the interface design field, especially those areas that would allow me to apply my interests in sports and automobiles to the development of interfaces in the near future.

Debra Lauterbach

Debra is in her second semester of her Human-Computer Interaction coursework at the U of M, coming here directly after finishing a computer science degree from Iowa State last December. While writing code was fun for awhile, she decided that she liked designing interfaces for applications even better. Her goal is to make the world a better place, one usable interface at a time. Debra is interested in this project because she buys local food herself when she can, but wants to find ways to make it easier and more widespread for everyone in the community.

Amy Kuo

Amy Kuo is now a graduate student at SI at UM. She had a background in internet and multimedia and now specialized in HCI. She loves information and interface design, and hopes to become a usability engineer in the future! Amy is also crazy about music, food, sports...she just wants to enjoy the life, a better life!

Noah Liebman

Noah is returning to U of M after a two-year hiatus to pursue his master's degree in Information Science with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction and Incentive-Centered Design. (He also really enjoys hyphens—and knows the difference between a hyphen and a dash.) Although it may not be right away, he one day hopes to be involved in a startup company of some variety. Having come from a family where sorting the recycling is more ritual than chore, he is fully aware of the problems facing those who make a conserted effort to dispose of their stuff properly. When he is not hard at work trying to rid the world of rampant consumerism, he is busy being part of the problem.

Andrea McVittie

Andrea is a Graphic Artist and 2nd year MSI student at U of M studying Human-Computer Interaction. Before coming to the University of Michigan, she worked for Michigan State University Libraries as a web designer.

Andrea is interested in learning how design can be used in encouraging a more sustainable culture.
