This website was created in order to document the progress of our team's SI 682 project. We are interested in investigating consumer behavior as it relates to big-ticket, yet rarely used, items such as landscaping or recreational equipment.
Our hypothesis is that given an outlet that fosters trust and community, individuals may be willing to share such items with their neighbors. We plan to investigate this space and design a system to encourage community sharing, thereby reducing global demand, and therefore production.
Our intent is to enter our completed project into the CHI 2009 student design competition.
